The Comite River Diversion Canal project is expected to bring hundreds of job opportunities.
The flood control project will detour flooding around the Central area and beyond by draining water from the Comite River into the Mississippi River. A few highlights: 50% of the work is done on the combined US 61 + KCS project, US 61 – Project to be completed by end of year, McHugh Road – Corps and East Baton Rouge Parish will conduct site assessment by end of November, Channel Segment 4 – approximately between McHugh Rd. and LA 67 – 190,000 of
